The testing programme will be ramped up starting on Monday.

There will be four or five test runs every hour. It should be noted that from Monday, any vehicles parked on the Cross City line will be removed at the owner’s expense.

 A friend of mine is moving to a new job at the end of September and he is excited by the fact that he will be able to get on the tram in Cabra [almost beside his house] and get off at the Stillorgan stop close to where his new employer is located. He is currently spending about three hours every day travelling to and from his workplace so his excitement is understandable. He claims that the value of his house has greatly increased because of the new tram service.

I missed the 28/08/2017 Press Release which reads as follows: Just Eat was unveiled last month as the new commercial partner of dublinbikes and today sees the rollout of the branded bikes on street. The new look features the distinctive Just Eat logo and signature colour ray. In addition, the docking station screens, service vehicles, staff uniforms and associated inventory have all been branded with the Just Eat logo and colours.

 Joanne Grant, Managing Director JCDecaux Ireland said “We are delighted to be welcoming Just Eat as the new partner of dublinbikes. They are a very colourful and progressive brand with ambitious plans for growth and we are looking forward to working closely with them to build on the overwhelming success of the scheme by harnessing the synergies between our business models over the next three years.” Just Eat is an online food order and delivery service. It acts as an intermediary between independent take-out food outlets and customers.

It is headquartered in the United Kingdom and operates in 18 countries in Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. The platform allows customers to search for local take-out restaurants to place orders online, and to choose from pick-up or delivery options.

The station opened on 1 July 1862 and was originally called Monkstown And Seapoint, though this was later changed to just, Seapoint. The ticket office is open between 05:45-00:50 AM, Monday to Friday.

New Bridge Construction At Broadstone Railway Station]

Broadstone railway station was the former Dublin terminus of the Midland Great Western Railway.

It is currently the headquarters of Bus Éireann, housing most of their administration and one of their main garages. Nearby on the same property is a Dublin Bus Depot.

The station was closed to public traffic on 18 January 1937 and finally closed on 8 April 1961, having been used as the steam depot for Dublin between 1937 and this date.

The building was one of Dublin's six original rail termini, the others being Westland Row (now Pearse Station) Amiens Street (now Connolly Station), Kingsbridge (now Heuston Station), North Wall and Harcourt Street (now a bar and nightclub complex).

Broadstone will be a Luas stop on the LUAS Cross City Line between Broombridge and St.Stephen's Green. Work on building the line commenced in June 2013 and services are scheduled to begin in December 2017.

The stop will have lateral platforms and be located adjacent to the Broadstone building with access from Constitution Hill. The stop will be called Broadstone-DIT due to it location near to DIT Grangegorman Campus.

VIEW FROM SPENCER DOCK TRAM STOP [RED LINE LUAS SERVICE]

The Luas Red Tram Line which runs from Tallaght to The Point (via Busáras and Heuston Railway station) has a Spencer Dock stop. The Red Line extension opened on 9 December 2009.

When the Luas Cross City project is completed in 2017 passengers from Spencer Dock will be able to change onto the Luas Green Line at the Abbey Street stop. The new service will pass close to my apartment and I will have a choice of two different stops from October 2017 onwards.

Phoenix Park Tunnel services and minor Heuston revisions from Mon 21st November

Iarnród Éireann has confirmed that new commuter services connecting stations between Newbridge and Parkwest with Connolly to Grand Canal Dock via the Phoenix Park Tunnel line will commence on Monday 21st November.

The introduction of the new services follows an investment of €13.7 million in upgrading the Phoenix Park Tunnel route, funded by the National Transport Authority.

A small number of minor alterations to other services to/from Heuston will also take effect from this date, and the final schedules have been approved by the National Transport Authority following public consultation.

Seven new morning peak trains to Grand Canal Dock, and eight new evening peak trains from Grand Canal Dock begin on Monday 21st November, with limited stop services in the opposite direction:

These services will serve all stations between Newbridge/Hazelhatch and Parkwest; and Drumcondra, Connolly, Tara Street, Pearse and Grand Canal Dock, except those marked * which will serve limited stops – search the journey planner above for exact times. They will not serve Heuston Station – customers for Heuston should use existing trains between Newbridge/Hazelhatch and Heuston Station.

Services will also ensure connections at Hazelhatch/Newbridge for customers travelling on longer distance commuter services to/from stations such as Kildare, Portlaoise and others.

The new services give a new direct public transport connection between stations in south-west Dublin and north Kildare and the central business district between Connolly and Grand Canal Dock.

This is the first phase of services to operate via the Phoenix Park Tunnel. Iarnród Éireann and the National Transport Authority plan to expand services in the future to include off-peak and weekend services.

UAS TRAM SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION PHASE [UPPER DOMINICK STREET]

Construction commenced in June 2013 and the new service is scheduled to be in operation by the end of 2017.

There will be an additional 10 million passenger journeys per year on this newly extended Luas network.The cost of this project is €368 million and it's one of the largest capital investment projects being undertaken by the government at the moment.

It's the extension of the Luas Green line creating an interchange with the red line.
There will be 13 new stops with 8 of these in the core city centre area and I live very close to two of them.

It will take 21 mins to travel from St Stephens Green to Cabra.

THIS VISIT TO CORK I DEPENDED ON THE BUS SERVICE [THE 208 BUS WAS ESPECIALLY USEFUL]

This time I visited Cork City I selected buses at random and got off at random stops in the hope that I might find something interesting to photograph. If you plan to use buses in Cork make sure to get a LEAP card.
